Time for an update....

"Joe" made it through the first phase and is now only a little over a month away from graduating. And yes, he will be graduating in a month because he is going to make it straight through without recycling. :D

He got an 8 hour pass Friday between phases so I got to see him and spend some time with him. It was great getting caught up on what all has been happening for both of us and just being together. Yes, it was hard to drop him back off but I was so proud of him when I saw him in formation.

I finally got the info on where to send him letters, and his two letters that he sent me finally got here, so there will probably not be anymore letters on this blog. I will still continue to post on here though so don't worry. ;)


I picked my wedding dress up Saturday. It wasn't supposed to be here until the end of May since they had to order it in white but I got the email Saturday morning that it was in already. I was so excited to pick it up and try it on in white. It is absolutely perfect!! 124 more days to go!

I met with the wedding coordinator last Monday and we got all but a few minor details hashed out. I am so excited to be working with here because I think she really understands my vision.

Not Me Monday!

Alright...here goes this week's "Not Me Monday!" post.


I did not cry like a baby everyday at lunch last week while watching TLC's "A Baby Story" because things like that don't get to me and I by no means have any case of baby fever. Nope, not me.

I am not currently so sore that I can't sit down without wincing. And I do not hurt in muscles I didn't even know I had because I am in GREAT shape and that Jillian Micheal's DVD did not kick my butt these past two days. Nope, I can work out with the best of them and and I certainly do not get winded after just 2 minutes of jumping jacks and jump ropes.


I did not spend 30 minutes Friday trying to find Subway on Fort Benning only to get totally lost. I have an excellent sense of direction and totally know where I'm going at all times. I also didn't take the wrong exit ramp onto 185 while trying to frantically get back on post and ended up having to go 3 miles in the wrong direction before being able to turn around. Yeah, I have that great sense of direction.

Not Me Monday!

Time for some "Not Me Monday!" fun again!

I did not neglect my scheduled dates with my Jillian Michaels DVD this past week at all whatsoever. I would never do that because I just love getting up early to work out.

I also did not roll into work everyday after 9 this past week because I got up early everyday to work out.


I did not enjoy my first Glow and Go skin treatment at Ulta this past Saturday because I'm not the girly girl type who enjoys that kind of thing. Nope....not me.


I did not finally break down and cry this past week because I was missing my love. I wouldn't do that because I'm strong and I can handle this.

Two weeks down....

Well babe it's been two weeks since I dropped you off for you to report. It's been rough but I keep telling myself that not hearing from you is a good thing. It means that you're still there and you're not injured or sick. Straight through all the way baby!!

The wedding is starting to seem real now. I sent out our Save the Dates this weekend and our invitations are sitting here in the box waiting to be addressed. I have my first big planning session with the coordinator tomorrow. This is it!

You do not know (well maybe you do) how much I can't wait to be your wife. I'm ready for our life together babe.


I'm still hoping that I get to see you this Friday....even if it's just 20 minutes. :)

Wish you were here....

Hey babe! Well, I finally broke this afternoon and let myself cry because I was missing you. Our invitations got here today and it was so hard not to pick up the phone and call or text you. They're just how I wanted them and I am so happy about that. The Save the Date cards should be here tomorrow so I'll be working on getting those out in the mail this weekend. Sure wish you were here to help with that. I could use an envelope licker. :)


Had a rough afternoon dealing with an issue that will not be discussed here. I got really frustrated and overwhelmed and all I wanted was to hear your voice. That's when I finally lost it and broke down. Thank goodness Heather was there for me when I needed her. Man, you don't know how great it is to have her around.


This weather has been crazy last night and today. It's been raining and storming forever and I know you're getting it too. I hope you're staying dry and you don't get sick from being out in this mess. It's made me want to just snuggle up and since you're not here I've been doing that with my snuggie. It's not the same though. :(

Not Me Monday!

This is my first "Not Me Monday" post and I'm excited to be a part of this. So here goes....


I did not shave my legs this past Saturday for the first time in months. Nope, I didn't break out that razor and shaving cream. And since my legs were already somewhat smooth since I've been keeping up with shaving them, I did not cut myself several times.

I also did not get teary eyed when I finally found "the dress" this past Saturday. I wouldn't do something like that because I'm not the mushy kind.

Since we're talking about things I did not do this past week I also did not drink wine from a mini plastic bottle with a screw on top. Nope, I always pour my wine into a glass before drinking it.

One week down...

Dear "Joe",
Hey babe! It has been one week since I dropped you off at the Pre-Ranger dorms for you to report to Ranger school. I'm assuming since I haven't heard from you you've survived the first week. This is good news as we were both worried about that trip down the zip line.

I went dress shopping yesterday and after trying on about 15 dresses I finally found "the one". It is absolutely gorgeous and yes, I did get a little teary eyed when it finally hit me that this is my dress and I'm going to be wearing it when I marry you, the love of my life.

I miss you terribly babe.
